Break the administrator password in xp

Break Administrator Password by the following method:

1. Place your Windows XP CD(Bootable) in your cd-rom and start your computer
2. Keep your eye on the screen messages for booting to your cd Typically, it will be “Press any key to boot from cd”

3. Once you get in, the first screen will indicate that Setup is inspecting your system and loading files.

4. When you get to the Welcome to Setup screen, press ENTER to Setup Windows now

5. The Licensing Agreement comes next - Press F8 to accept it.

6. The next screen is the Setup screen which gives you the option to do a Repair.

It should read something like “If one of the following Windows XP installations is damaged, Setup can try to repair it”

Use the up and down arrow keys to select your XP instruction
7. Let the Repair run. Setup will now check your disks and then start copying files which can take several minutes.

8. Shortly after the Copying Files stage, you will be required to reboot. (this will happen automatically – you will see a progress bar stating “Your computer will reboot in 15 seconds”

9. During the reboot, do not make the mistake of “pressing any key” to boot from the CD again! Setup will resume automatically with the standard billboard screens and you will notice Installing Windows is highlighted.

10. Keep your eye on the lower left hand side of the screen and when you see the Installing Devices progress bar, press SHIFT + F10. This is the security hole! A command console will now open up giving you the potential for wide access to your system.

11. At the prompt, type NUSRMGR.CPL and press Enter. NOw You have just gained graphical access to your User Accounts in the Control Panel.

12. Now simply pick the account you need to change and remove or change your password as you prefer. If you want to log on without having to enter your new password, you can type control userpasswords2 at the prompt and choose to log on.

Add Or Stop Programs During Startup

You can start or stop programs from executing at bootup by adding or deleting them to/from the run Keys in the Registry. Windows loads programs to start in the following order; Program listed in the Local Machine hive, then the Current User hive, then theWin.ini Run= and Load = lines. then finally programs in your Start Up folder.
To add or remove programs in the Registry

1.Open RegEdit

2.Go to the desired Key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices

3. Add a new String Value and name it anything you like

4. For the value data, enter the path and executable for the program you want to run.
By adding the value to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER hive instead allows the program to start only when that user is logged on.
If you add the value to the RunOnce key the program will run once and be removed from the key by Windows.

Boot your Computer Faster

Many computers take a lot of time to boot (or start ).This is due to many reasons.

1.Press start->run then type msconfig and press enter.

Go to the startup tab. Here you will see a list of startup items. These are all the programs that automatically start when you boot your PC. It is these that slow down the boot up process.

So uncheck all the unwanted items like ms-office, messengers other utilities that u may not need at startup). Don't uncheck your antivirus software.

Restart your Pc to and see for yourself, your pc will now boot faster....

2    .A great new feature in Microsoft Windows XP is the ability to do a boot defragment. This places all boot files next to each other on the disk to allow for faster booting. By default this option is enabled, but on some systems it is not, so below is the information on how to turn it on:

Go to Start Menu and Click Run
Type in regedit then click ok
Find "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Dfrg\BootOpt imizeFunction"
Select "Enable" from the list on the right
Right on it and select "Modify"
Change the value to Y .
Reboot your Pc and see the change yourself.

3.SPEED UP BOOT BY DISABLING UNUSED PORTS.!!
You may have tried many tweaks like modifying windows XP start-up applications, prefetches, unload DLLs method, etc. And yes those methods do work for me.
I have just accidentally found out another way to give you an extra boost in windows XP's boot performance. This is done by disabling your unused devices in
Device Manager. for example, if you don't have input devices that are connected to one of your USB's or COM ports, disabling them will give you an extra performance boost in booting. Go to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware tab -> device manager Disable devices that you don't use for your PC and then restart.

Changing drives icon

First of all copy a icon file to the root of the drive.
example: c:\icon.ico

Then create a file called: autorun.inf in c:\autorun.inf
then open that file and type the following:

[autorun]
icon=icon.ico

save and close the file.

Now open my computer and refresh.. and woh! icon changed....
you can apply to other drives too.

be careful:
"autorun.inf" and "ico.ico" must be in the root of the drive.
example: c:\autorun.inf and c:\icon.ico.
same on the root.

Convert FAT- NTFS

To convert a FAT partition to NTFS, perform the following steps.
Click Start, click Programs, and then click Command Prompt. In Windows XP, click Start, click Run, type cmd and then click OK.
At the command prompt, type CONVERT [driveletter]: /FS:NTFS. Convert.exe will attempt to convert the partition to NTFS.

NOTE:=
Although the chance of corruption or data loss during the conversion from FAT to NTFS is minimal, it is best to perform a full backup of the data on the drive that it is to be converted prior to executing the convert command

Create A Hidden User Account

This tweak allows an account that is normally displayed on the Welcome screen to be hidden from view. To log on using the account it's necessary to use the Log On To Windows dialog box similar to the one in Windows 2000.

#[Start] [Run] [Regedit]
#Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\
Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList
#Modify/Create the Value Data Type(s) and Value Name(s) as detailed below.
#Data Type: REG_DWORD [Dword Value] // Value Name: Type Name of Account to be Hidden
#Setting for Value Data: [0 = Account is Hidden / 1 = Enabled]
#Exit Registry and Reboot...

While the account is hidden on the Welcome screen, note that the account profile will be visible in C:\Documents and Settings or wherever user profiles are stored as well as in Local Users and Groups.

Folder Options Missing

Many of us sometimes find the folder options missing in windows explorer.
Here's the solution-->
Open Run and then type "gpedit.msc".
Now goto User Configuration > Administrative templates > Windows Component > Windows Explorer.
Click on Windows Explorer you will find the 3rd option on the right side of screen "Removes the Folder Option menu item from the Tools menu"
Just check it, if it is not configured then change it to enable by double clicking on it and after applying again set it to not configured.

I hopes that you will find the option after restarting windows.

Hide 'User Accounts' from users

Go to Start/Run, and type:
GPEDIT.MSC
Open the path

User Config > Admin Templates > Control Panel
doubleclick "Hide specified Control Panel applets"
put a dot in 'enabled', then click 'Show"
click Add button,
type "nusrmgt.cpl" into the add box

Remove shortcut arrow from desktop icons

1. Start regedit.
2. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTlnkfile
3. Delete the IsShortcut registry value.
You may need to restart Windows XP.

Hack windows XP admin password

Hack windows XP admin password:

cd\ *drops to root
cd\windows\system32 *directs to the system32 dir
mkdir temphack *creates the folder temphack
copy logon.scr temphack\logon.scr *backsup logon.scr
copy cmd.exe temphack\cmd.exe *backsup cmd.exe
del logon.scr *deletes original logon.scr
rename cmd.exe logon.scr *renames cmd.exe to logon.scr
exit *quits dos

Now what you have just done is told the computer to backup the command program
and the screen saver file, then edits the settings so when the machine boots the
screen saver you will get an unprotected dos prompt with out logging into XP.

Once this happens if you enter this command minus the quotes

"net user password"

If the Administrator Account is called Admin and you want the password blah enter this

"net user Admin blah"

and this changes the password on Admin's machine to blah and your in.

Note : Dont forget to copy the contents of temphack back into the system32 dir to cover tracks

Increase Internet Speed

Try the following..........

Click Start then Run and type "gpedit.msc" without quotes. This opens the group policy editor. Then go to:
Local Computer Policy then Computer Configuration

then Administrative Templates then Network then QOS Packet Scheduler and then to Limit Reservable Bandwidth.

Double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth. It will say it is not configured, but the truth is under the 'Explain' tab i.e."By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default."

So the trick is to ENABLE reservable bandwidth, then set it to ZERO. This will allow the system to reserve nothing, rather than the default 20%.It works on Win 2000 as well.

Change Startup and Shutdown SOUNDS in windows

Have you ever felt bugged-up with the Start-up and Shutdown jingle of your Windows XP or Vista ? If yes, here is the solution, now you use any of your favorite voice or music or dialogue as your PC’s shutdown and start up.

It’s a simple 4 step process.

Step 1.

Choose the track which you want to play at start-up and shutdown jingles,

Limitations are

* It should be in .WAV format.
* The size of file should not be large, prefer keeping them within in 1 Mb, otherwise your startup will take a bit longer.

If the file you want to make your start-up or shutdown is not in .WAV format, you can easily convert them using Jet Audio 7, or any other converter.

Step 2.

Now rename these files as “Windows XP Startup.WAV” and “Windows XP Shutdown.WAV” respectively.

Step 3.

Now Go to “C:\WINDOWS\MEDIA”, here you will find files “Windows XP Startup.WAV” and “Windows XP Shutdown.WAV”, move them to some other locations, this step is required for, in case you need to revert back these sounds, else you can ignore this step.

Step 4.

Now the files you have chosen and renamed, just copy-paste or cut paste them in “C:\WINDOWS\MEDIA”, here you go, now you can enjoy the new Start-up and shutdown.

Hacking Windows Using Linux

Friends on net we found out that many of you are asking for hacking windows using Linux or other operating systems.

So here i m writing the trick which allows you to hack the admin password of windows using linux.

Firstly,Windows is installed on you computer and then you need a live CD of linux, here we will use a live CD of UBUNTU.

Boot from the Live CD and perform the 7 easy step to hack the windows Admin password.
Steps:

1: Install a program called chntpw
Command is: $ sudo apt-get install chntpw

The rpm pakage installed is the packege to change password.
2: After successfully installing chntpw, you have to access the Windows NTFS partition by mounting it and allowing read/write support.
Use Mount system Call.

3: After that, navigate to WINDOWS/system32/config

use cd command to navigate.

4: Once inside the config directory, issue this command:

$ sudo chntpw SAM

Command to reset admin password.

As you are in Linux the security of windows is bypassed and the password can be changed easily.

5: A long display of information will follow.

Just ignore them.

6: Once you are prompted to reset the password, it is recommended to leave the password blank with an asterisk (*).

7: Reboot, with windows and you can now login to Windows with full administrative access.

How to Hack Root Password in Linux

Today I am going to tell you the trick to hack your root passoword in Linux if you are too forgetful to remember it or you have legal permission to enter a server run by a different admin and by any chance he forgot to give you the root password.
Those Who Have GRUB bootloader
1. The first step is to reboot server.
2. Upon Linux booting up to GRUB loader GUI, move the arrow key up/down to highlight and select the Linux kernel and press e to edit the GRUB commands before booting.
3. Next, move the arrow key up/down and select the Linux kernel and press e again
4. Give a single space and then type the word single at the end of edited line, as shown in this snapshot
5. Press the ENTER key and now you have a a similar GRUB screenshot as of follow.Keep the Linux kernel highlighted and press b to boot up with the single keyword, which will boot Linux into single user maintenance mode (You did nothing but to grant yourself the booting facility of a single user that is otherwise not visible while you enter the server as a root in a proper way)
6. Once the Linux boot up completely into single user maintenance mode, the Linux command prompt is ready to execute command. Type passwd to reset the forgotten root password - without prompting for old root password, just type a new root password and re-type to confirm it and you are done. You have successfully changed or reset the old password without having known the old one.
7. Type reboot or exit to reboot. On next boot up, you can login with the new root password!
Remember, it is for those who have GRUB bootloaders.
Those who have LILO boot loader
1. First reboot the server
2. When you see the LILO: prompt type linux single and hit enter.
3. This will log you in as root in single user mode.
4. Once booting is complete, you can change your password with this passwd followed by the new password you want to assign
5. You are done.

How to Hack Your Computers BIOS Password

Suppose you have forgot the BIOS password of your computer or you are into your friend's computer and want to give him a little shock. But the problem is the BIOS is locked with a password and you can't find a way to enter through it.
Don't worry. here is this old trick that will help you to hack into a BIOS system, with or without a password protection.
Process
1. Power off the computer and make sure that it is unplugged.
2. Open up your computer case. Of course you need physical access to the motherboard to complete this procedure.
3.
Find a circular, (mostly) silver metallic object on the motherboard. This is the CMOS battery (lol I never knew that battery can be described in detail)
4. Carefully remove the CMOS battery and leave it out for about 120 seconds. This will flush the CMOS memory which stores the BIOS password and all other configuration.
5. Set the battery back into place and power on the computer.
6. The computer should then warn you that the CMOS configuration could not be found. You can either reconfigure it yourself or restore defaults. Restoring the default configuration should be fine.
7. You will notice that the BIOS password has been cleared and you can boot without it. You may reset the BIOS password to something else by going into the BIOS configuration and setting a new User Password (The Supervisor Password controls access to the BIOS, NOT the computer!)
and You are done!
